Description
Family-run business founded in 1924, engaged in textile import and clothing manufacture. In 1962, Cardona Lois decided to become the island’s official distributor of the Lois brand, thus commissioning a comprehensive refurbishment of the shop, which had a floor area of 40 m2. It was stripped completely bare and the Lois branding strategy with regard to merchandise and product display was created from the ground up.
The location of the storage area required careful study as the customer receives a lot of merchandise. But due to the shop’s compact size, the studio decided to take advantage of its tall ceilings instead, creating an upper-level storage area above the display. Access to it is through a ladder made to measure for the project.
The materials to be used were stipulated by the brand itself—long-lasting, natural materials such as wood, processed steel and marble. We installed general theatre lighting to set the items off to best advantage. Versatility is the name of the game for the display shelves, which can be modified according to the collections. This is the reason why the main shelf of jeans is versatile and the shelves can be rearranged depending on the style of display.
